Julia and Julian Kashdan-Brown bring together their combined expertise from many years of architectural design, artist collaborations, urban design, design and development appraisals.
After working over 20 years in nationally renowned private architectural practice Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios LLP, as an Architect and Partner, Julia has teamed up in 2011 with husband Julian to form Kashdan Brown Architecture and Urban Design. After initially working in private sector practices as an Architect, Julian has worked over 15 years within the public sector establishing himself as Urban Design Team Leader within a unitary Planning Authority.
Julia has expertise in a wide range and scale of building types across several sectors, with specific experience in arts-related buildings, involving close liaison with artists and local communities. Julia has also been developing her skills as a print-maker. Her work explores textures and spatial ideas mainly through intaglio and relief callograph prints.
Julian is a highly qualified and experienced manager, designer and design assessor who has worked extensively in both the private and public sector. Using knowledge gained from working on construction sites Julian has completed a number of self-build projects and continues to do so.
